As part of our off-loading procedure, we check the vehicle for any property that appears to have been forgotten. If an item is missed by both the customer and the driver, we will attempt to contact the customer where possible when it has been noticed.
Any found items will be stored securely for 28 days after the trip. If we successfully make contact with the customer, we may hold the item longer, within a reasonable timeframe.
Customers can collect lost property free of charge by making an appointment to pick it up from the office of one of the local private hire firms we work with in the Peterborough area. We reserve the right to select which office we use for this. Appointments must be booked in advance, and reasonable time must be allowed for the item to be delivered to the collection point. If the item is not collected within two days of the agreed appointment, and we are not contacted again, the item(s) may be considered forfeit. When booking the collection, you must tell us the name of the collecting person, who must have valid photo-ID for us to release your item.
ID includes, but is not limited to, DVLA issued driving licence, UK or EU Passport, or Disabled persons bus pass. Company or foreign issued ID cards are NOT accepted as we can not verify and/or rely on them when dealing with releasing personal property. In the case of any item with a value higher than £30, we will take a photo of the provided ID and the item being collected. This will be stored until we confirm with you that you have received your property, via a follow-up e-mail, and the case is then finalised and closed.
If you prefer for us to return the item to your drop-off location, home, or workplace, a reasonable charge will apply based on the time and fuel required.
Items can also be posted to you at a cost of £3 to cover handling, plus the Royal Mail Recorded Delivery postage charge.
We do not accept liability for any items left behind, but we will do our best to assist in retrieving them.
